The problem that cannot be solved when the total amount of bandwidth that the infrastructure can provide is limited, nor can it be solved simply by laying a few more optical cables. The scene that best reflects this problem is unmanned driving. In order to complete the judgment of danger within 0.1 milliseconds and take safety measures, it is obviously impossible to completely rely on 5G to transmit data, and the server will return the result after calculation. Therefore, experts propose to establish an edge computing gateway near the road, so as to ensure the response speed.
So the concept of edge computing gateway appeared. By means of edge computing, data can be preliminarily screened and processed in the edge gateway, important security information can be sent to the supervision platform and a warning will be issued, so that the efficiency of processing information can be improved and hidden danger information can be obtained in a more timely manner.
